ORDER FOR THE PUBLIC WORSHIP of GOD

 Second Sunday in Lent                   February 28, 2021

*Responsive Call to Worship    (Psalm 28:1,2,6,7)

   To you, O LORD, I call; my Rock, be not deaf to me,

            Lest, if You be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.

   Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to You for help,

            When I lift up my hands toward Your most holy sanctuary.

   Blessed be the LORD! For He has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.

            The LORD is my strength and my shield;

   In Him my heart trusts, and I am helped;

            My heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.

Confessing Our Need of Christ Together and Individually

  Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the hope of all nations.

  You sacrificed Yourself to restore the nations of the world unto fellowship with You.

  We acknowledge how often we think primarily

  of our own nation and our own people.

  We are suspicious of those not like us

  and are reluctant to sacrifice ourselves for the benefit of other ethnicities.

  We have not interceded for other nations as a kingdom of priests

  or acted to serve them in love.

  We confess these sins to You

  and ask You to remake us into the likeness of Christ.

Assurance of the Lord’s Pardon (Psalm 28:8,9)

   The LORD is the strength of His people;

            He is the saving refuge of His anointed.

   Oh, save Your people and bless Your heritage!

            Be their shepherd and carry them forever.

New Guests - We are so glad to have the privilege of worshiping the Lord with you. Please fill out one of our “Guest Cards” found on the table in the Narthex. This will help us in responding to any of your questions or needs. You can place them in the offertory plate or hand it to our pastor.

The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday at Grace Covenant. All who trust in Jesus and Him alone for their salvation are invited to partake. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. After all are served, we then take the elements together. If you have a non-communing child, please bring them forward with you so Pastor John may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask our Pastor about the process.

Cry Room - This special room is located in the back of the sanctuary should you have need. It is well appointed with the option to clearly hear the service.
