Responsive Call to Worship    (Psalm 123:1-3)

   To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!

            Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,

            as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress,

   So our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us.

            Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us.

*Hymn                       “God Be Merciful to Me” (attachment)                          Redhead, Miner

*Prayer of Adoration

*Affirmation of Faith - The Children’s Catechism

   What is the 9th Commandment? "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

   What does it teach you? Never to lie, but to tell the truth at all times.

Gospel Lesson                            Matthew 7:13-20 (ESV)

Affirmation of Holy Scripture - Psalm 119:87

   They have almost made an end of us on earth, but we have not forsaken Your Precepts.

Hymn                         “The Lord Will Provide”                                                      Newton, Smith

   1. Though troubles assail me and dangers affright,

   Though friends should all fail and foes all unite;

   Yet one thing secures us, whatever betide,

   The scripture assures us the Lord will provide.

   The birds without barn or storehouse are fed

   From them let us learn to trust for our bread:

   His saints, what is fitting, shall ne’er be denied,

   So long as it’s written, the Lord will provide.

   2. We may, like the ships, by tempest be tossed

   On perilous deeps, but cannot be lost

   Though Satan enrages the wind and the tide,

   The promise engages, the Lord will provide.

   His call we obey, like Abram of old,

   Not knowing our way, but faith makes us bold;

   For though we are strangers we have a good Guide,

   And trust in all dangers, the Lord will provide.

   3. When Satan appears to stop up our path,

   and fills us with fears, we triumph by faith;

   He cannot take from us, though oft he has tried,

   This heart-cheering promise, the Lord will provide.

   He tells us we’re weak, our hope is in-vain,

   The good that we seek we ne’er shall obtain,

   But when such suggestions our spirits have plied,

   This answers all questions, the Lord will Provide. (Over for verse 4)

   4. No strength of our own, or goodness we claim,

   Yet since we have known the Savior’s great Name;

   in this our strong tower for safety we hide,

   The Lord is our power, the Lord will provide.

   When life sinks apace and death is in view,

   This word of His grace shall comfort us through:

   No fearing or doubting with Christ on our side,

   We hope to die shouting, “The Lord will provide!”

The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday at Grace Covenant. All who trust in Jesus and Him alone for their salvation are invited to partake. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. After all are served, we then take the elements together. If you have a non-communing child, please bring them forward with you so Pastor John may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask our Pastor about the process.

Cry Room - This special room is located in the back of the sanctuary should you have need. It is well appointed with the option to clearly hear the service.
