Responsive Call to Worship    (Psalm 46;6,10)

   The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; He utters his voice, the earth melts.

            "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

*Hymn #712                         “Be Still, My Soul”

*Prayer of Adoration

*Affirmation of Faith - Children’s Catechism

   How long ago did Christ die? About two thousand years ago.

   How were sinners saved before Christ came? By believing in the promised Messiah.

   Before Christ came, how did believers show their faith? By offering the sacrifices God required.

   What did these sacrifices represent? Christ, the Lamb of God, who would come to die for sinners.

Confessing Our Need Together and Individually

   Almighty God, Your mercy is higher than the heavens,

   wider than our wanderings, and deeper than our sin.

   Forgive us for thinking small thoughts about You;

   for making You in our own image

   rather than worshipping You in spirit and in truth;

   for our desire to build our own kingdoms

   rather than see Texas become “as it is in heaven”;

   for our callousness towards the suffering of others;

   and for our slowness to open our hearts to people of other lands, tongues, and races.

   Change us by the power of the Holy Spirit, that we may desire what is good,

   love what You love, and do what You command through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Assurance of the Lord’s Pardon  (Romans 5:8, Colossians 1:13-14, Romans 5:1)

   God shows His love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

            He has delivered us from the domain of darkness

            and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,

            in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

            Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,

            we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

*Hymn #337                           “Nothing but the Blood”

New Guests - We are so glad to have the privilege of worshiping the Lord with you. Please fill out one of our “Guest Cards” found on the table in the Narthex. This will help us in responding to any of your questions or needs. You can place them in the offertory plate or hand it to our pastor.

The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday at Grace Covenant. All who trust in Jesus and Him alone for their salvation are invited to partake. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. After all are served, we then take the elements together. If you have a non-communing child, please bring them forward with you so Pastor John may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask our Pastor about the process.

Cry Room - This special room is located in the back of the sanctuary should you have need. It is well appointed with the option to clearly hear the service.

Ingram Extra - Join us after service in the Fellowship Hall for refreshment. If you have interest or questions about the day’s sermon, join Pastor John at the couches for a short Q&A with others.
