ORDER FOR THE PUBLIC WORSHIP of GOD
Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost September 15, 2019
Responsive Call to Worship (Psalm 7:9,10,11,17)
Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
And may You establish the righteous- You who test the minds and hearts, O Righteous God!
Our shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.
We will give to the LORD the thanks due to His righteousness,
And we will sing praise to the Name of the LORD, the Most High.
*Hymn #210 “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”
*Prayer of Adoration
*Affirmation of Faith - Children’s Catechism
How many offices does Christ fulfill as the promised Messiah? Christ fulfills three offices.
What are they? The offices of a prophet, of a priest, and of a king.
Confessing Our Need of Christ Together and Individually
Holy and merciful God,
in Your presence we confess our sinfulness,
our shortcomings, and our offenses against You.
You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from Your ways,
in wasting Your gifts, and in forgetting Your love.
Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry
for all we have done to displease You
Forgive our sins. Help us to live in Your light and walk in Your ways,
for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Assurance of the Lord’s Pardon (1 John 1:9)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
*Hymn #342 “Rock of Ages”
Offertory & Prayer of Thanksgiving
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Praise Him, all creatures here below.
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Gospel Lesson Matthew 5:7

New Guests - We are so glad to have the privilege of worshiping the Lord with you. Please fill out one of our “Guest Cards” found on the table in the Narthex. This will help us in responding to any of your questions or needs. You can place them in the offertory plate or hand it to our pastor.
The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday at Grace Covenant. All who trust in Jesus and Him alone for their salvation are invited to partake. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. After all are served, we then take the elements together. If you have a non-communing child, please bring them forward with you so Pastor John may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask our Pastor about the process.
Cry Room - This special room is located in the back of the sanctuary should you have need. It is well appointed with the option to clearly hear the service.
Ingram Extra - Join us after service in the Fellowship Hall for refreshment. If you have interest or questions about the day’s sermon, join Pastor John at the couches for a short Q&A with others.
Church Staff - Mrs. Shirley Madary, Office Manager * office@gcpcingram.org; Rev. Dr. John W. Uhl, Pastor * pastor@gcpcingram.org
